US/Turkish Anti-Russian Provocations
by Stephen Lendman
America and Turkey have disturbing similarities. Both are fantasy democracies, featuring money-controlled one-party rule while pretending otherwise.
Police state governance tolerates no opposition - deploring peace and stability, waging endless naked aggression, repressing their own people, risking global war.
Major media in both countries support regime policies demanding condemnation.
Turkey and America are rogue states. A criminal class runs them. They’re allied against Russia. Repeated provocations risk direct confrontation.
It’s inconceivable that Washington’s dirty hands weren’t behind Turkey’s downing a Russian Su-24 bomber last November.
Erdogan would never do it on his own without permission or complicity with Washington - committing a premeditated act of war on the fabricated pretext of Russia’s aircraft violating Turkish airspace.
Moscow has indisputable evidence no violation occurred. The Su-24 bomber was in Syrian airspace at the time. Russia’s Foreign Minister called the incident “an unfriendly act.”
Putin accused Erdogan of back-stabbing him - mincing no words, saying the downed Russian aircraft posed no threat to Turkey’s security.
He has clear evidence of Erdogan’s support for ISIS and other terrorist groups - complicit with Washington and other rogue partners.
On Saturday, Turkey again falsely claimed a Russian Su-34 bomber violated its airspace. Moscow’s ambassador was summoned. No information is available about the meeting
A Turkish statement willfully lied, saying “(w)e once again explicitly call on Russia, to act responsibly and not to violate Turkish Airspace, which is NATO airspace.”
“We underline that such actions could lead to serious consequences, the responsibility of which will totally rest with the Russian Federation.”
Ankara claiming the Russian plane was warned numerous times by Turkish air radar units “through appropriate channels” in both English and Russian languages was patently false.
No warnings were issued because no violations occurred. Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Major General Igor Konashenkov blasted Ankara’s false accusation, saying:
“There have been no Turkish airspace violations by the aircraft of the Russian airborne tactical formation (operating) in the Syrian Arab Republic. The statements from the Turkish side concerning the alleged air incursion by a Russian Su-34 are proof-less propaganda.”
He explained airspace controlling radar stations can’t determine the country of origin of aircraft detected on their monitors - only altitude, speed and flight path.
Visual contact is needed to identify an aircraft’s nationality. None occurred. Konashenkov ridiculed Ankara’s claim about repeated warnings in English and Russian - calling it a complete fabrication, concocted by “ignorant propagandists who watched too many Hollywood action movies.”
He stressed neither Russian or Syrian air defense systems (including Damascus radar stations) detected any Turkish border violations. None occurred.
Turkey’s Foreign Ministry recklessly accused Russia of escalating existing tensions.
Ankara complicit with Washington bears full responsibility - two rogue state partners in high crimes against peace.
