Pentagon Hypes Fear for Greater Military Spending

Pentagon Hypes Fear for Greater Military Spending

by Stephen Lendman

I’ve stressed repeatedly. America’s only enemies are ones it creates. Its war on terrorism is a shameless hoax, a pretext for endless wars of aggression.

Today is the most perilous time in world history. Bipartisan US policy threatens world peace. The possibility of nuclear war should scare everyone.

Disarmament should be prioritized - using public resources for economic development, job creation, and rebuilding industrial America.

Bipartisan consensus rejects what’s most essential, supporting military Keynesianism on steroids, a permanent war economy, ongoing since WW II ended.

The world’s richest nation has growing millions of poor, disadvantaged, uneducated, a hidden hunger and homelessness crisis, lost industrialization, crumbling infrastructure, and bipartisan governance prioritizing endless wars over peace, equity and justice.

In testimony to Senate Appropriations Committee members, Defense Secretary Ashton Carter and Joint Chiefs Chairman General Joseph (“fighting Joe”) Dunford hyped nonexistent threats, urging greater military spending than already.

Carter lied calling “Russia, China, North Korea, Iran and terrorism” America’s greatest threats. No nation threatens the world’s leading superpower anywhere.

Terrorism is US created and supported. “Russian aggression” exists nowhere, nor are China, North Korea and Iran behaving “aggressively.”

Washington is furious about Russia waging real war on terrorism in Syria, not phony war like America, foiling its regional imperial agenda.

Carter and Dunford support endless US wars of aggression, urge congressional authorization for record amounts of military spending along with additional appropriations whenever requested.

America’s addiction to war is the greatest threat to world peace and humanity’s survival.

All US presidential aspirants support continuing dirty business as usual. An eventual day of reckoning looms.
