Bashar Al-Assad: Heroic Defender of Syrian Sovereignty
by Stephen Lendman
In March 2011, Obama launched naked aggression on Syria, a nation threatening no others, using ISIS and other terrorist fighters as imperial foot soldiers.
There’s nothing civil about ongoing conflict, one of the many US-led Western proliferated Big Lies. Syria was invaded, death squads recruited from scores of countries.
Endless war without mercy continues, Assad the target, regime change the objective, wanting pro-Western puppet governance replacing Syrian sovereign independence.
Everything media scoundrels report about what’s going on is scandalous misinformation and Big Lies, hard truths suppressed - like on all US imperial wars of conquest.
The first casualty of war is deplorable reporting, state-sponsored propaganda masquerading as journalism, disgraceful rubbish no responsible editors would tolerate.
Russia’s intervention last September changed things dramatically on the ground, its real war on terror, unlike Washington’s phony one, turning the tide of battle short of ending it because US dark forces want it continued.
On an important anniversary in modern Syrian history, Assad addressed his nation’s heroic armed forces, saying:
“I am proud to address you on this occasion which is dear to all our hearts: the Syrian Arab Army Day, and to salute you on the 71st anniversary of establishing it for all the heroics you and sacrifices that you - including officers, noncommissioned officers, individuals, and civilian workers - have offered for more than five years up to this day in the face of the most vicious terrorist aggressive attack in the country’s history, and in confronting the projects of hegemony and new and old colonialism, all of which crashed down at the gates of our dignity, invulnerability, cohesion, and steadfastness.”
“(T)he the whole world witnessed your firmness and strength in defending your homeland, and proved to enemy and friend alike that your are the children of a deep-rooted establishment with an honorable history full of victories.”
“You have fight and you are fighting with honor. You bore hardships, confronted challenges, and persevered and your are still persevering, being as we have always known you: proud men who hold true to their vows, who are faithful to the homeland and to its people who renew on each day their faith in you and their rallying around you and their unity with you in all squares and fields in the face of the enemies of humanity, civilization, and history.”
“Today, as you continue carrying out your national duties with dauntless determination, unparalleled ardor, and faith in the inevitability of victory, you prove that the achievements you made in several areas were not coincidences or transient events; rather they are absolute proof that the Syrian Arab Army is the most capable of confronting terrorism and eliminating it.”
“Today we stand at the threshold to a pivotal stage in the homeland’s history, which requires that we all be more vigilant and prepared and that we double efforts and work with determination until victory is achieved and until we guarantee a bright future that meets the aspirations of our proud people who painted a magnificent portrait of national steadfastness and proved to be a resistant and heroic people that cannot be intimidated by challenges and cannot be daunted by misfortunes, so be faithful to the aspirations of this people and true to its values and principles.”
“Once again I salute you on this dear occasion, and I value highly your monumental effort and your constant vigil over the security of the homeland and your sacrifices for the sake of Syria’s precious soil.”
“I assure you that the Syrian Arab Army will remain the bastion that encircles the homeland, defends its sovereignty, and protects its dignity.”
Assad is no villain as misportrayed by the West, Israel and other rogue regional states. He’s a leader overwhelmingly supported by his people, wanting no one else but him in charge. He’s their best hope to defeat the scourge of US imperialism.
We’re all Syrians in the struggle for world peace, equity and justice sorely absent in a world dominated by US-led viciousness - an evil force crucial to defeat, its wickedness ended forever to have any chance to survive.
