Aleppo Entirely Free from US-Supported Terrorists
by Stephen Lendman
On December 15, Russian General Staff Lt. Gen. Viktor Poznikhir said remaining terrorists were removed from eastern Aleppo, the entire city free from their scourge.
“The militants have been driven out of all the quarters that remained under their control as a result of the Syrian troops’ offensive,” Poznikhir explained.
“During the operation, over 900 terrorists have been killed, dozens of pieces of heavy weapons and other military equipment have been destroyed…105 city quarters with a total area of 78.5 square kilometers have been cleared of terrorists” after months of intense fighting.
Photo, video and other evidence revealed torture and other ill-treatment inflicted on numerous residents. Men, women, children and young boys refusing to fight were brutalized. Many in makeshift prisons were murdered in cold blood once liberating the city was certain.
So-called moderate rebels are cutthroat killers, as ruthless as ISIS, most joining forces with al-Nusra.
“All evidence recovered will be systematized and referred to the relevant international organization for legal assessment,” Pozhikhir explained.
Freed residents are now in refugee camps set up beforehand, given hot meals and medical care as needed - treated like human beings for the first time since mid-2012 when Aleppo fell.
