NYT Complicit in Coverup of US War Crimes
by Stephen Lendman
Most readers don’t get past media headlines. Some read opening comments, few any more detail.
Scoundrel media take full advantage. Headlines willfully deceive. So does content that follows.
The New York Times is complicit in US coverup of horrendous crimes of war and against humanity - again on April 1 in reporting on Iraq and Syria.
It headlined “US-Led Coalition Counts 229 Civilian Deaths Before Mosul Strike,” saying:
“(T)he United States-led coalition fighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria said on Saturday that it was likely that at least 229 civilians had been unintentionally killed by its operations since they began in August 2014.”
Fact: Since 2014, US terror-bombing in Iraq and Syria alone massacred thousands of defenseless civilians.
Fact: Pentagon reports willfully deceive, lie, and cover up extensive carnage.
Fact: The NYT and other media scoundrels are complicit in coverup and denial of US genocidal high crimes - in Iraq, Syria and all other imperial war theaters.
Fact: America supports the terrorist scourge it claims to oppose.
Fact: Mosul is being systematically destroyed, not liberated.
Fact: US-led terror-bombing created a biblical-level humanitarian disaster - virtually nothing done to help victims, polar opposite how Russia and government forces operate in Syria.
Fact: Most ISIS fighters in the city were relocated to Syria - protected, not attacked.
The Times: “In February…four civilians were killed, the coalition said.”
Fact: The true toll is hundreds, maybe more.
The Times: “(T)he March 17” Mosul attack, killing hundreds of civilians, “is under investigation.”
Fact: All US investigations of war crimes are whitewashed, truth-telling suppressed, including by media scoundrels.
The Times quoted CENTCOM spokesman Col. John Thomas’ Big Lie, falsely claiming “(w)e take the issue of civilian casualties seriously, every day, not just when it makes news.”
Fact: Post-WW II, countless millions perished from US wars of aggression. The horror continues in multiple imperial war theaters, civilians slaughtered indiscriminately.
America bears responsibility for atrocities and other crimes committed by terrorist groups it created and supports.
It remains unaccountable for Nuremberg-level high crimes in multiple war theaters.
